They ask for soc. security number online...is it safe??

The Site posted here by Mod7265 is the official Annual Credit Report site.  It is the one linked to from the FTC website and is the ONLY one I trust for the free annual.

If you prefer, you can order them by mail.  Go here: AnnualCreditReport.com Mail Order and download the form.  The address is also on that page.
