Topic: NC "Learned Profession" Clause - Include CA's?

I've managed to confuse myself during research of this subject.

Are CA's exempt from being sued under NC law based on the "learned profession" clause?

I was under the impression that pertained to attorneys, etc.

This will greatly affect my lawsuit for state violations only (against a CA) if it is true.

Many thanks for thoughts/comments.

Edited to add: Information from a member indicates that at least one NC attorney believes the learned profession clause protects CA's. I've not heard this from any attorney I've talked with, not to mention that I simply can't believe a CA phone drone is a "learned profession".

Protects CA's from being sued....on what? From being sued, period?

Logically, that just wouldn't make any sense considering they've been sued aplenty.

Agree.

It was a misunderstanding of the abbreviation "CA". Someone thought it stood for "collection attorney" and I've been using it for "collection agency".

I've since found out it's okay to sue them.
