Looking for an attorney, Reno, NV area

(1/1)

MongoMan:
Hello,

I was looking for help in locating an attorney in the Reno, NV area.

I was out of work for close to 2 years, and had several credit cards, and some loans default. I was recently sued by a collection firm, and now they are claiming that the judgement has been granted in their favor. I wasn't even notified of a court date.

Any help would be appreciated.

By rule, we are not allowed to recommend attorneys on the board.

There are research methods you could use which are somewhat effective. PACER case/counsel search is one.

Beware, however, of bait-and-switch, wherein an attorney will say you have a good case and then try and steer you into bankruptcy

Fighting Irish:
Your best bet is to head to the courthouse, and search for the names of attorneys who have won cases against the attorney who's suing you.

You don't just want consumer attorneys; you want winning consumer attorneys.

If you do some research here you can more than likely go ProSe.
