 Hello,   I have been learning and preparing to clean up my CR from the forum.

 I have sent VAL letters to CA's  ,   DISP to OC and CRA"s.

 After 2-3months, the picture is developing in my CR.

 I  must  ask a question about an OC and it's obligation to MARK THE ACCOUNT IN DISPUTE.

 In my CR, the OC  , in response to my DISP letter, has entered this comment:

"Account information disputed by consumer"


 Do you guys think i still have a claim for FAILING TO MARK THE ACCOUNT IN DISPUTE under fcra?

1 - The Law says conduct X is prohibited.
What does FCRA say?

 The fcra says  :

      " Duty to provide notice of dispute. If the completeness or accuracy of any information
furnished by any person to any consumer reporting agency is disputed to such
person by a consumer, the person may not furnish the information to any consumer
reporting agency without notice that such information is disputed by the consumer. "
 
Would not the OC's comment in my CR indicate

failure to inform the National Credit Reporting Agencies that the alleged account is in dispute?

See Reply #3.  The reason you have to dispute with the CRA's is to give them a chance to correct any inaccurate information.  They corrected it by marking it in Dispute, so what would you sue them on?

You are expected to follow proper English composition, which includes proper formatting.

It appears that you are planning litigation. It is incumbent upon you to follow the standards of the court system.

It's also incumbent upon you to follow the standards at Debtorboards, or your posts will be moderated, and any that do not comply will be deleted before posting.

Why can't they report it as valid, if it truely is valid?

Did you dispute the alleged debt?  If so then why wouldn't their TL state that?

If you try to trick the system by putting in line feeds to format your posts, it can result in bizarre formatting on the screens of others whose settings are not identical to yours.

The software has it's own wrap-around function.  Let the system do the work.

I type by hand.   I use no software at all.   I think maybe you want my lines to be longer.

Yes. I first validated with the CA.   I then disputed with the CRA.  Lastly, I disputed with OC.

The CRA says the alleged debt is valid.    The CA did validate with statements.(credit card)

The OC puts TL in CR as       "Account information disputed by consumer"
