DISCOVER SUED AND I DID CONSENT JUDGMENT
« on: October 26, 2016 04:23:44 PM »
Just received recent credit report.  Discover is on there and states "account charged of and is continued to report until 7/2021".  Should or could I contact someone and get that changed?  If so, who would I contact?  Seems to be very big negative but I am now paying them monthly.

Thanks

What is the inaccuracy of the statement they are reporting?

Is it really charged off since I am now paying?

Yes.

Charge-off is an accounting term and governed by the generally accepted accounting practices.

It will stay like that until it is paid off, at that point it should change.

How would paying off the account change the fact it was a charged off account?

It won't, they should change it or add something that says it was paid.

Be VERY careful following advice from the internet! What worked for someone with thousands of posts on a message board may not work for YOU in your state.  Consult a lawyer when ever possible.
