First Reply to old Judgement Repo collection?
« on: July 10, 2015 12:30:56 PM »
Old judgement that is a repo from 12 years ago.

It is valid but the letter does not state what it is buy I am sure it is the repo, it is the only thing it can be.

Let is your basic "respond within 30 days...."

How should my first contact be. I want to settle but I do want to make sure this is the repo before I ask how much they would accept to settle

Well first I would need to see the Judgement.  If I received a judgement 12 years ago, I would first check the rules in my state and make sure the judgement against me hasn't expired.  Some states they are 5 years, 10 years, and 20 years.  Some can be renewed, and others can't.

I would first check and see if it is out of statute, if so, make sure it wasn't renewed.  I can go to the court and see if there is anything filed against me, and get a copy of the judgement.
